#3 Movie Review: Voice from the Stone

So here is my THIRD movie review!, as before I will talk about the actual film synopsis, so you’ll know what the story is about….

Verena (Emilia Clarke) is a determined young nurse hired to help a mute young heir (Edward Dring) within an isolated castle in Tuscany. The more she observes the boy, the more Verena becomes convinced he has fallen under the spell of a powerful and otherworldly persona trapped in the villa’s stone walls, one that seems to be rapidly entwining with her own.

The Cast (I will just point out the main characters of the movie, if you like to see the full cast just click here)

  • Emilia Clarke as Verena
  • Marton Csokas as Klaus
  • Caterina Murino as Malvina
  • Kate Linder as LaVecchia
  • Lisa Gastoni as Lilia

So here we go! My quick review be warned SPOILERS!…

Emilia Clarke really stands out in these smaller dramatic roles with Marton Csokas as an excellent co-lead. Where the movie was filmed, the scenery of a beautiful Italian setting and gothic overtones was the setting for a wonderfully creepy and suspenseful tale by Eric D Howell. The third act had a (sort of) Edgar Allan Poe/Hitchcock inspired vibe to it which really took you into the movie. Would definitely recommend this to someone whom would enjoy an 1950s style gothic thriller.

Overall I would give this a 3/5
